Revs prepared for unpredictable Quakes

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – It doesn’t matter what minute it is, where the ball is, or what the score is. A goal is never out of the equation for the Earthquakes, an opponent unlike any other the Revolution have seen this season.

Instead of contending with a talented midfield (Vancouver and Philadelphia), or a technically savvy side (Dynamo), the Revolution will face a squad that thrives on pluck, moxie and, perhaps, a little bit of luck when they step onto the pitch at Buck Shaw Stadium on Saturday.

“They’re a very physical team (and) a very dangerous team at all times,” Revolution coach Jay Heaps said. “No matter what the score is, no matter what the game situation is, they’re dangerous. They’ve got guys like Chris Wondolowski, Steven Lenhart, Alan Gordan and Shea Salinas, and so when those guys are on the field, there’s a chance they can score at any time.”
