Maybe a change of scenery will do Revs forward Jerry Bengtson some good. It certainly can't hurt, anyways.

The Revs have loaned Bengtson to Argentina's Belgran in the Priméra Division. He is on a year-long loan through June 30, 2015.

Bengtson, 27, joined the Revolution on July 5, 2012, as a designated player from Honduras’ CD Motagua. He has made 36 appearances (23 starts) scoring just four goals since coming to the Revs.

But Bengtson fell out of favor with the team this season, struggling to find playing time (coupled with his 2014 FIFA World Cup training) after and underwhelming first two seasons with the club.

Bengtson has played on various Honduran national teams in the last two seasons. He was a member of the Honduras national team that appeared at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil where he started all three of the country’s matches last month.

In short, Bengtson has performed admirably for his country, but when it comes to the Revs, he's been pretty much invisible.

The loan opens up space in case more transactions are made by the Revs.
