Jones trains; team protecting against ‘setback'

How important is Jermaine Jones to the New England Revolution?

Since Jones suffered a groin injury May 31 against the LA Galaxy, the Revs have gone 2-7 in nine games without the 33-year-old midfielder.

The good news is Jones underwent surgery to repair the injury and has since returned to training, however the Revs are making sure to protect against a setback.

"Every week is a good week, we’re still seeing that, but today we’ll see a little more progression from him," head coach Jay Heaps said. "Also again, don’t want to be too cavalier with what we do... we just have to make sure we don’t get too far ahead of ourselves to have a setback."
