Jermaine Jones, star of the US men's national soccer team surprising run in the World Cup, was introduced as a member of the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on Tuesday.
The Revolution and the Chicago Fire of MLS each wanted Jones, 33, and on Sunday the Revs won the rights to sign him -- for a reported $4.7 million for the rest of this season and next -- through a blind draw.
The Revs are fighting for a playoff spot with 10 regular season games remaining.
“It’s only 10 games, but...I can give something back and try to give everything in trying to make the playoffs,” Jones said. “I like to win and I will try everything I can to get to win.”
