Heaps: ‘Absolutely mind-blowing' red card

The New England Revolution played more than half of their 2-1 loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps without Andrew Farrell after he received a red card in the 31st minute.

Although the Revs regrouped from the call they were unhappy with it, particularly coach Jay Heaps.

"You’re coming together as a group because you get into a situation where you have a really inconsistent referee," Heaps said. "He decided to give eight yellows - it's just too many. Two teams that like each other and he’s throwing cards. The penalty, if he’s touched, fine, but for a red card on that one is absolutely mind-blowing. I can live with the penalty. Not the red card."
