Gabe Latigue, who went down with an injury last month in a training session with the Rochester Rhinos, is officially out of commission for an extended period of time.

The Revolution midfielder underwent surgery on his right knee Thursday in order to repair a torn ACL and meniscus, an operation that was deemed a success.

The work done on the knee means Latigue will miss 6-9 months of action as he rehabs from the injury.

The midfielder is a 22-year-old rookie for the Revs who this season was on loan to the Rhinos, a team he made 16 appearances for. Latigue also played for the Revolution in two U.S. Open Cup contests, recording one assist in these appearances.
