FOXBORO – A well-oiled machine. That’s how Revolution coach Jay Heaps defined reigning league champion Sporting Kansas City, who’ll march into Gillette Stadium on Saturday to face Heaps’ side.
Of course, Heaps probably isn’t alone in that assessment. Over the last two seasons, Kansas City has become one of the strongest sides in MLS due their relentless pursuit of the ball – a pursuit that, at any given moment, can put an opponent on its knees.
“Their pressure is pretty overwhelming,” Heaps said. “I think that’s one thing they do really well and they compete. It’s just a good team from top to bottom; they’ve got good international players, they’ve got good American players, (and) they’ve got a system that they play which they all buy into.”
