As the Patriots - and more specifically, the Patriots' quarterback - grows a little older and they realize that championship window won't be open much longer, is it time to break the bank on free agents?
Gary Tanguay and Trenni Kusnierek think so.
"Patriots have to do something big," Tanguay said on Arbella Early Editon. "No more old guys. No more Junior Seau, may he rest in peace. No more Adrian Wilson, and please, no Champ Bailey [cut by the Broncos this week]."
Kusinerek agrees it's time to spend some money. It's been shown they can make some big-money deals work under the salary cap.
"There's only one old guy that matters," she said, "and that old guy is Tom Brady. Tom Brady is going to be 37. If you're Bill Belichick and you don't get some receivers or a tight end or most importantly, [cornerback] Darrelle Revis, the best player out there, you're almomst conceding, 'OK, we won some titles and that's it.'"
