Vince Wilfork is back in the fold. He has agreed to a three-year deal that could be worth up to $22 million, but only $3 million is guaranteed.
So much for the tearing-the-nameplate-off-the-locker tirade that reportedly happened when Wilfork was asked by the Patriots to re-work his contract.
On Sports Tonight, Michael Felger and Tony Massarotti discussed the prodigal nose tackle's return.
"I thought as long as Wilfork kept his head about him, didn't get emotional about it, he would end up with this kind of deal," Massarotti said. "What leverage did he have?...If the guarantee is only $3 million, it's a pretty fair deal all the way around."
Felger wants to see the details of the incentives before he decides who won this one.
"It's going to be interesting to see. What's it going to have to be? Play in 90 percent of his defensive snaps to get his $7.5 [million]? Play in 75 percent? Just be on the roster? I want to see the all the details."
