"If there's too much pressure then he is in the wrong line of business." - Ben Volin

Stevan Ridley has a history of fumbling the football, that has been well documented.

On Arbella Early Edition, Gary Tanguay wondered if there is too much pressure on Ridley.

"If there's too much pressure then he is in the wrong line of business," said Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. "He's here in the NFL and it's put or shut up. You hear it all the time, results based business.

"I still think he's their most decisive running back, and they'd be foolish if they didn't try to feed him 10-15 carries a game."

Why is Ridley so prone to fumbling the football?

I think it's just brief mental lapses. Sometimes when he gets into a crowd he doesn't protect the ball as tightly as he might need to, doesn't tuck it high and tight. Just little mental lapse where in the NFL a guy can just poke his hand in there and knock the ball loose."
