Ty Law was a layup for the Patriots Hall of Fame. Asked last week on Quick Slants about his shot at being enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the former Patriots, Jets, Chiefs and Broncos corner said it’s not on his mind.

“I really don’t think about it now,” Law said. “Hopefully one day someone will consider me and say that my body of work represents a Hall of Fame-caliber player but I’m in the Hall of Fame for the New England Patriots and I’m happy with that. If I’m blessed enough to be considered for the Hall of Fame in Canton, so be it.”

While I had Law, it made sense to ask if he believes he’ll still be the best corner from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania to play for the Patriots once Darrelle Revis starts playing.

“In order to make a fair comparison, he has to play a while,” Law explained. “He has to play a lot longer than he has. So at the end of the day, if it keeps going how it is, he’ll be one of the best that’s ever played the, game not just compared to me.

“Darrelle Revis is a great cornerback but I don’t think it’s a fair question if you’re talking about a 15-year veteran with Super Bowls, Pro Bowls against somebody whose been in (the league) seven or eight year. You gotta put some longevity in. But if he keeps going the way it’s going, he’s going to be one of the best ever and a Hall of Famer.
