As training camp rolls on, there has been a lot of hype surrounding the New England Patriots.

When will we learn how good the 2014 Patriots will be?

Lou Merloni and Gary Tanguay discussed the topic on Arbella Early Edition.

"When will we learn? About three quarters of the way through the season," said Lou Merloni. "In that last quarter of the season you'll find out who's going into the final stretch here or into the postseason… as far as knowing what you have, you're talking about week twelve, week eleven."

While Merloni has his eyes on the later parts of the season, Gary Tanguay has something earlier in mind.

"If they stub their toe or get off to a slow start, you have to wonder," said Tanguay. "because I think this team, regardless of how good they look on paper, should come out of the chute strong.

"Gronkowski should come out on a mission, something to prove. Revis, I believe, will come out on a a mission, something to prove. Brady looked great [Monday] in practice… The Patriots got to come out strong in my opinion or that's a warning sign."

Merloni isn't worried about the first few games.

"If they sub their toe the first four weeks, guess what everybody says week five," said Merloni. "'Here comes Browner. That's all we needed, that's all we missed.' The first four games, just sit back."
