Report: Patriots WR Malcolm Mitchell suffers dislocated elbow

FOXBORO – Malcolm Mitchell’s elbow injury – nasty as it looked – could have been a lot worse. The Patriots rookie wideout will be out for about a month with a dislocated elbow according to The Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe and Karen Guregian.

Mitchell was in the midst of an outstanding debut game with four catches for 55 yards in the second quarter when he reached out to brace himself as he was being tackled. His arm bent badly.

Had it been a broken arm the recovery timeline likely would have been a lot lengthier.

The Patriots are down several receivers at the moment. Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Chris Hogan and Keshawn Martin all were held out of Thursday’s game. Only Hogan has been practicing regularly from that group.
