According to the NFL Network, the Jets are interested in picking up Randy Moss to play alongside newly re-signed wide receiver Santonio Holmes.
With Holmes signing an expensive 5-year, 50 million deal, it may be difficult for the Jets to re-sign receiver Braylon Edwards.
Edwards tweeted on Wednesday, "I would love to be a Jet but the feeling doesn't seem to be mutual with the management."
In that case, with at least one receiver spot open, Jason LaConfora of NFL Network is reporting that Moss has become an option for the Jets.
The Jets are also reportedly showing interest in shutdown cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.
More to come . . .
Mike Giardi and Mike Felger discuss Scott Zolak saying that Dion Lewis is trade bait, and discuss which Patriots players are here for the long term.
Andrew Hawkins' situation isn't far off from a character in HBO's "Ballers." And he played into those connections with a video on Twitter.
The slot receiver, who signed with the Patriots on Wednesday, shares some similarities with the fictional football player Rickey Jerret, a veteran receiver who wades through interest from a number of teams, including New England, during free agency. Because of those similarities, Hawkins spoofed on a scene from "Ballers" where Jerret works out with Patriots receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. Hawkins imposes his face over Jerret's.
