Aaron Maybin, the former first round pick who was cut by the Buffalo Bills on Monday, is expected to sign with the New York Jets.
Drafted 11th overall in 2009 as a defensive end, the 23-year-old has been converted to a linebacker. He appeared in 27 games in two seasons, recording 24 tackles, only 15 of those solo.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN New York, Maybin has a scheduled physical for the Jets on Wednesday.
The reality is that Maybin and most others signed around this time of year don't even make the final 53-man roster. If they do, it's rare that they make a huge impact. Like Vernon Gholston, Maybin has zero career sacks.
