After being drafted in the second round of this year's NFL Draft, Jimmy Garoppolo has had a spotlight on him.

From everything Michael Felger has heard, the backup quarterback has been "horrible."

Paul Perillo joined Sports Tonight to give his observations of Garoppolo.

"I can't sugarcoat it, he has been. He's really struggling" said Perillo. "He's a rookie and I think some of that is to be expected…. His head's got to be spinning right now. He looks like he's over thinking every decision."

Perillo does see some promise in his athletic ability.

"You can see the physical skills. He gets rid of the ball, he throws a good looking pass. Right now he doesn't know where it's going. More importantly he's having trouble with ball security."

"It's four, five, six days of practice right now. I'm not ready to say this was a terrible second-round pick, but it hasn't been pretty so far."
