Usually when the Patriots get "flexed" -- the flex schedule-adjustment option that the networks have to ensure compelling prime-time matchups late in the season -- it's a move from an early start time to a later kickoff.
This year, however, they're going in the opposite direction.
Because the Texans have fallen apart this season, the Patriots' Dec. 1 game at Houston has been "flexed" backwards. Originally scheduled to start at 4:25 p.m., it will now begin at 1 p.m. EDT. The game remains on CBS.
And the game that will replace it? Broncos vs. Chiefs, the two AFC West leaders. That game has been "flexed" from 1 p.m. to 4:25. Denver and Kansas City will play the first of their two 2013 matchups this Sunday.
