Patriots to rest starters vs. Eagles

FOXBORO -- The majority of Patriots starters will not play Monday night against the Eagles.
Most of the key players, including Tom Brady, Jerod Mayo, Vince Wilfork, Brandon Lloyd and Rob Gronkowski will not play.
While the Eagles are expected to play their starters into the third quarter, with two days and a game Friday in Tampa Bay, the Patriots are putting their preseason eggs in that basket.
Philadelphia also plays Friday, but their opponent then is the Browns, against whom they open the season.
