The Patriots announced two transactions on Thursday, releasing defensive lineman Michael Buchanan and wide receiver Kevin Dorsey.
The Patriots drafted Buchanan in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played 15 games on the special teams unit his rookie season, but was limited to just three games in 2015 due to injury before was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 7.
Dorsey was signed to the Patriots on Mar. 11, 2015. Drafted in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, he spent his rookie season on IR after a preseason injury. Dorsey played three games for the Packers in 2014 and had one reception for four yards before being placed on injured reserve in November. He was released by the team in February.
