The Patriots now have two Gronkowskis on the roster . . . again. They have re-signed Dan Gronkowski, older brother of Rob Gronkowski, to bolster their tight end corps.

The re-signing was first reported by the Boston Herald.

Gronkowski was released before the Patriots traveled back to the Gronkowskis hometown for their Week 3 game against the Buffalo Bills.

The Patriots originally signed Gronkowski in September, and he played the first two games of the season for New England. He spent the two previous years of his career in Detroit and Denver.

On Monday the Patriots released Tom Welch, a tackle who was often inserted as a tight end in the limited snaps he played.
