Patriots cut Salas, two others; seven in for workouts

On the same day the Patriots said hello to Deion Branch and Kellen Winslow Jr., they said goodbye to three others.
A league source confirmed reports that linebacker Mike Rivera and receiver Greg Salas were both placed on waivers. New England also cut running back Lex Hilliard.
To round out a busy day, the team hosted seven players for workouts: Receivers Kashif Moore and Brian Robiskie, linebacker Nathan Stupar, offensive tackle Nick Mondek, defensive tackles Antonio Dixon and Terrell McClain, and center Tommie Draheim.
