NFL, NFLPA settlement talks began Monday

Per the request (order, demand, ultimatum) of Judge Richard Berman, the NFL and NFLPA began conferring Monday, presumably to lay the groundwork for a settlement prior to the two sides sitting down with Berman on August 12.

Docket entries from Monday tweeted by attorney Daniel Wallach showed the two sides had a conference by phone with Magistrate Judge James C. Francis, IV.

Berman, in his letter to the two parties involved in a federal case over deflated footballs, told them he wanted “comprehensive, good-faith settlement discussions prior to the conference on August 12, 2015. Magistrate Judge James C. Francis, IV is available to assist you if you wish.”

So the settlement train has left the station. And most everyone would like it to reach agreement station prior to August 12.
