There has been plenty of speculation as to what the Patriots need to do in order throttle the Jets' hopes of an upset win in Foxboro.
Now comes decision time, what will happen when these two teams suit up Thursday night?
On New England Tailgate, Fred Smerlas, Steve DeOssie and Glenn Ordway took to picking.
While all of them chose the Patriots as the victor, they weren't exactly all on the same page as to how it would be done.
"It all boils down to Tom Brady, correct?" Smerlas said. "It's going to be a very interesting game, I think it's going to be a nail biter. The Patriots will win and they will win by two touchdowns at the end, but it's going to be a tough, tough contest."
So Smerlas believes that the Patriots will in fact cover the -12 spread.
DeOssie was of a different opinion.
"Here's the difference, Rex Ryan will not make the rookie mistakes that [Doug Marrone] made, he won't throw indiscriminate challenge flags. He will manage the clock better in the fourth quarter. I don't think this leads to a Jets win, but it keeps this game closer. I think the Patriots win by 7-9 points."
As for Ordway, he was more in line with what DeOssie had to say but added that offense may be lacking in this contest.
"I think this is one of those lower scoring games, I go under [the -12 line] in this game," Ordway said. "You're going to win the game, you're playing at home with Tom Brady. But this is one you're going to sweat."
