FOXBORO – Pete Morelli will be the referee for Saturday’s Pats-Colts Divisional Playoff game, Greg Gumbel and Dan Dierdorf will be the broadcast team and the Patriots are 7.5 point favorites.

Morelli will be at the head of a mixed crew. The rest of the officials: umpire Garth DeFelice, head linesman Wayne Mackie, line judge Carl Johnson, field judge Jon Lucivansky, side judge Rick Patterson and back judge Todd Prukop. (thanks to http://www.footballzebras.com/ ).

NFL VP of Officiating Dean Blandino said in a video distributed Friday that, although officials seemed to be more permissive of contact in the Wild Card round, there is no edict to “let the boys play” in the postseason.

Also worth noting is the Wall Street Journal article that appeared Friday alleging that the Seattle Seahawks have benefited defensively from testing the resolve of officials. The Seahawks engage in “rampant pass interference” according to the piece, believing officials won’t call every foul.

This will be the final game for Dierdorf as a color guy.

Finally, the Patriots remain as 7.5-point favorites. The total for the game is 51.
