McCann: Brady and NFLPA ‘may not have shared interests'

Things could start to get interesting as Tom Brady's appeal date with the NFL draws closer.

University of New Hampshire Law Professor Michael McCann suggests that a problem could arise between Tom Brady and the NFLPA lawyers if the Patriots quarterback decides that he would like to to cut a deal with the league.

"That's always a concern that the NFLPA and Tom Brady may not have shared interests here," said McCann." They clearly are of the same mind, but Tom Brady is in a different position. Tom Brady may feel as if a two-game suspension or a one-game suspension would be okay with him. Whereas the Players Association is worried about precedent. They're worried about the fact that if Tom Brady can get a four-game suspension and then reduced, that creates a precedent the Players Association may not want. It's possible the Players Association and Tom Brady could end up disagreeing."
