Lawrence Jackson's appraisal of Logan Mankins didn't faze the Patriots All-Pro guard. "That's alright. That's fine," Mankins said when apprised of Jackson calling him a dirty word in the wake of Saturday's dustup in Detroit. "Everyone has their own opinions."Earlier Tuesday I noted that some of the players most often described as dirty -- Mankins, Ndamukong Suh, Vince Wilfork, Rodney Harrison -- also happen to be among the best at their positions. Mentioning this to Mankins, he interrupted and said, "I wouldn't say Suh's a dirty player. I think Suh's a great player. He's got a load of talent. He plays good and plays hard and defends his teammates. He does all the things I would want in a teammate."Suh was defending JacksonSaturday night when he fired a punch at Mankins. Mankins was dragging Jackson by the facemask."I've done stuff I probably shouldn't do in games before," said Mankins. "I've had stuff done to me that shouldn't be done also. Sometimes you get caught, sometimes you don't."On another topic, Mankins, who came to the Patriots in 2005 out of Fresno State along with college teammate James Sanders, had this to say about the just-released Sanders. "It's always sad to see someone go that's been here a long time and has helped the team a lot," said Mankins. "We all wish James the best and wish he could have stayed." Tom E.
