Headsets have malfunctioned in Pittsburgh, too

Does this quote sound familiar?

“The problem was the headset kept going out multiple times during the game, so I had to run over and get a couple calls, piece together some calls on the headset that came in broken up. It was one of those things we were fighting through."

Ben Roethlisberger at Gillette Stadium on Thursday night, right?

Nope. It was Mark Sanchez -- then-quarterback of the New York Jets -- at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh after the Jets lost to the Steelers in the 2010 AFC Championship Game, as related by Michael David Smith of NBC's Pro Football Talk.

“It never really happened (in other games) for that long of a time,” Sanchez said that day. “We had to use a walkie-talkie at one point and [offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer] was just yelling calls in at one point."

Gee. Headsets going out. In a championship game, no less. Wonder how Mike Tomlin reacted to that. And how pittsburghsteelers.com covered the story?
