FOXBORO – Rob Gronkowski was the only Patriot not spotted during the portion of practice open to the media on Tuesday.

Coincidentally, the tight end was the subject of a contentious exchange between Bill Belichick and Albert Breer of the NFL Network during a press conference preceding practice.

Asked if Gronkowski’s rehab from back surgery entered a new stage since Gronk was spotted working out Monday, Belichick contended that Gronkowski has been “…Out there every day. He’s been in a camp the whole – he hasn’t missed a day of camp.”

If Belichick says he has been “out there” there’s no reason to doubt it. But Gronk’s workouts have been out of sight from the media. Hence the verbal sparring that followed in which Breer tried for clarification that Gronkowski’s deal seemed different since he was in view of the media and Belichick’s stoic response “He’s been doing the same thing every day.”
