This past week, the Patriots agreed to turn over records that could be used in the Aaron Hernandez trial.
David Frank of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly joined Quick Slants to explain why the lawyers want those documents.
"What the lawyers are going to be looking for in those records," explained Frank. "is any evidence that might to Aaron Hernandez's state of mind, his intent in those weeks and months leading up to the alleged murder last summer."
With the Patriots getting pulled into the trial, could a member of the team be called to testify?
"If I had to look into a legal crystal ball I would say no," said Frank. "There's been nothing coming out of the court filings or anything in court that would suggest the Patriots have any evidence that the judge would deem to be relevant."
