Injury schminjury. Michael Felger loves the Patriots' selection of Dominique Easley with their first-round pick in the NFL Draft. Two ACL surgeries be damned.
"It constitutes more risk than it does value," Felger told Tony Massarotti on Felger & Mazz on 98.5 The Sports Hub. "My request going into the draft was stay in first round and draft on defense. While I was hoping more for an outside guy than inside, this happens to be is an inside guy who is an up-the-field player. Passing-game player. Love it."
Felger said it's the kind of gamble the Pats should be taking when they're picking 29th.
"But what I love the most about it is this is the exact kinda guy they should be drafting at 29 when they're as good as they are," he said. "You sort of take a chance on an injury guy or another kind of guy with a lot of upside and, well, if he doesn't pan out what have you really lost?"
