There's been a lot of talk about Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald this week after CSNNE.com Patriots insider Tom E. Curran revealed the Patriots showed some interest in acquiring the All-Pro last offseason.
Michael Felger tells Arbella Early Edition that Fitzgerald would be a "perfect fit" for Tom Brady as the Patriots look to surround their quarterback with more targets.
"Let's dare to dream," Felger told Gary Tanguay. "We know realistically it's not the kind of thing the Patriots do [especially because of Fitzgerald's $18 million salary cap hit] It makes perfect sense for talk radio."
If the Pats landed him, it would have to be via trade. Would New England part with, say, Rob Gronkowski, to land Fitzgerald?
"If you would trade Gronk for a first-round pick, you'd trade him for Larry Fitzgerald," Felger said. "I want to see them show just a little bit of urgrncy the next couple of years. So that they recognize that when Brady's done here, it's going to be a whole different world."
