Former Patriots and Denver Broncos center Dan Koppen has joined the football coaching staff at Bishop Hendricken High in Warwick, R.I. as a volunteer.
Hendricken head coach Keith Croft announced the addition of Koppen via Twitter.
Can't keep it quiet any longer. Excited that our program can learn from Dan Koppen, great role model and professional. Great for RI FBALL— Keith Croft (@hendrickenfb) March 1, 2014
Hendricken has won four consecutive Rhode Island Division I championships.
Koppen, 34, won two Super Bowls as Tom Brady's center from 2003-2011. He played for the Broncos and snapped for Peyton Manning in 2013. He tore his ACL in Broncos training camp and was on injured reserve last season. Koppen played at Boston College, lives in Rhode Island and his father-in-law is former Raiders running back Mark van Eeghen, who played football at Cranston (R.I.) West High.
