The NFL draft's first and second overall picks, Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota, faced off in Week 1, and the game wasn’t close.
Mariota’s Titans destroyed Winston’s Buccaneers, 42-14, with Mariota tossing four touchdowns to two interceptions by Winston.
“As far as Jameis Winston is concerned, I didn’t realize just how far away he really is as to understanding what he’s doing on the field,” Boomer Esiason said Monday on Toucher & Rich. “He has not a clue what he’s doing on the field. He can’t read defenses.”
The Patriots won’t be lucky enough to face Winston this year, but they could challenge Mariota in Week 15, when the Titans travel to Gillette Stadium.
