Dolphins rally around Suh after Blount's criticism

LeGarrette Blount verbally unloaded on Ndamukong Suh Sunday after the Patriots win in Miami, reaffixing the “dirty” label to the oft-controversial defensive lineman.

On Monday, Suh’s Dolphins teammates lined up to vouch for Suh’s honor.

“The only opinions that matter are the people that's in the locker room. I feel like if you ask anybody in the locker room about him, he's a good guy,” said Dolphins offensive lineman Branden Albert. “A man's dominating a grown man, I don't know if that's dirty. He's just got that much power. I don't see him doing anything. I see him dominating. That's the only thing I can say -- he's a dominating force.”

Blount got into it with Suh after a late-game carry when Suh pushed the already fallen Blount into the ground then shoved Blount when Blount showed displeasure. Blount responded by grabbing Suh’s facemask and prying his helmet off. That drew a penalty. The scuffle that ensued included an official getting cuffed around as well as Suh tried to get at Blount. Fines may be issued.

The dirtier play by Suh on Sunday was flipping Patriots center David Andrews ass-over-tea-kettle before the snap. Suh was called for encroachment but taking a free and gratuitous run at a player while the ball is dead could have earned him an unnecessary roughness flag.

Dolphins coach Adam Gase also weighed in, saying, “Since I've been here, Suh's done everything right. He's played hard. He's tried to do everything he can do to help our defense play well. It's hard for me to comment on something that I wasn't really sure what [Blount] was talking about or what incident he was talking about. I can't say. I don't really understand that he was getting at there.”

Blount told WBZ-TV’s Steve Burton after the game, "[Suh’s] a dirty player. He's always been a dirty player. He's gonna always be a dirty player. There's no room in the game for that, and at some point in time, guys have to defend themselves when they're doing things that he does . . . All in all, he got his ass beat. They lost. He ran into the locker room after the game. We're good."
