With the addition of Revis, do we now owe Bill Belichick an apology for thinking the Pats wouldn't make a big splash?

Do Patriots fans, and our Arbella Early Edition crew of Gary Tanguay, Trenni Kusnierek and Dan Shaughnessy, owe Bill Belichick an apology for not thinking he'd make a bold free-agent move this offseason?

After the Patriots lost cornerback Aqib Talib to Denver, there was a lot of hand-wringing. About 24 hours later, there were hosanas for landing an even better cornerback Darrelle Revis.

"The column I had written was not published," said Shaughnessy, the Globe columnist. "The feeling was they weren't going to do it."

Kusnierek points out that Revis doesn't address the issue of getting a top target for Tom Brady.

"I has to be the negative Nancy in the room, but what about the offense?" she asked.
