As the Patriots get ready for their preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Tom E. Curran says there is some players who will be playing for their football lives.

One of those players is Dan Connolly who was a big player for the team in 2012.

"In 2013 he fell off the table," said Curran. "His performance has lagged, Dan Connolly is getting more reps during the practices. Ryan Wendell is playing for his football life on Friday night."

Also in danger of getting cut is wide receiver Josh Boyce.

"The Patriots can swing and miss with the best of them when it comes to drafting wide receivers." explained Curran. "I'm not seeing enough separation from just the normal guys who are roster fodder, i.e. Brian Tyms."

Veteran defensive lineman Will Smith is someone to watch.

"I know the Patriots are a little bit lean on the defensive line right now," said Curran. "but I think Will Smith definitely falls under that category of a guy the Patriots would say, 'you know what, we don't have room for you, we're going to keep one of these younger guys and keep you on the line in case we want to bring you back.'"
