Curran: Patriots – Eagles Preview

Share

This game, like every other game for the Eagles between now and the end of their season, is a must-win for their playoff hopes. They've got one way to the postseason, most likely, and that's by winning their division. The Patriots are sitting more comfortably. They are, actually, the No. 1 seed in the AFC currently. (Even though New England lost to Pittsburgh and the Steelers and Pats are both 7-3, the Ravens lead that division and swept Pittsburgh; Houston is the No, 2 seed at 7-3 as well). So what's at stake Sunday for the Eagles is far more concrete.

For the Patriots? You could tell by Tom Brady's tenor on Wednesday that he is hellbent on getting his offense playing more efficiently. It's eating at him that they've been so ineffective early in games. This will be the toughest test - on paper - that the Patriots face between now and the end of the regular season.
