CSNNE.com's Patriots insider Tom E. Curran breaks down the Patriots biggest concerns heading into their bye week.
Curran says the play of the offensive line hasn't been at the level that most people anticipated when the season began. It's led to protection issues for Tom Brady.
Brady, meanwhile, has begun to make progress with his new set of receivers - as the 55 points against the Steelers last Sunday showed.
"It's steady [progress], but it's awful slow," Curran said, adding that wide receiver Danny Amendola's injuries have helped slow that progress.
The return to form of tight end Rob Gronkowski, who finally looked like himself against Pittsburgh, and the expected return of Shane Vereen in the third-down back role, are two things that should give the offense a boost in the season's second half.
