Rob Gronkowski and Danny Amendola are both listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Atlanta, but despite the same designation, the two players don't have the same chance of playing.
CSNNE.com Patriots Insider Tom E. Curran says Gronkowski is more likely to play than Amendola, but notes that both will still likely be game-time, or close to game-time, decisions.
For the Patriots, their game plan doesn't change much if Amendola is ready to go. He and Julian Edelman are both capable of playing in the slot, and Edelman would move to the outside if Amendola were to return.
But if Gronkowski plays, the Patriots offense takes on a whole new dimension.
The tight end has been all but nonexistent in the first three weeks of the season. Gronkowski would be a huge addition, especially in the red zone.
Curran says even if one or both does suit up for the game, they're unlikely to be featured.
"[The Patriots are] certainly not going to make either player the hub of their game plan at this point," says Curran. "If they're available, awesome"
Patriots fans would likely agree, that getting one or both back on the field would be "awesome."
