When the Patriots and Texans met in the regular season last year, it marked a turning point for the Texans.

Unfortunately for them, it wasn't the kind they were expecting, suffering a 42-14 beatdown at the hands of the Patriots.

The Texans managed to lose their hold on the AFC's top seed, but still finished out the season at 12-4.

The two teams met again in the postseason and the Texans met the same fate.

This year it's been a totally different story.

Houston is suffering through a 2-9 campaign and has lost nine consecutive games.

But could all these numbers be misleading? Could the Texans be primed for an upset?

The Sports Tonight crew debates and doesn't see it happening.

"I don't know how you make a case for [an upset]" says Kirk Minihane.

The two teams appear to be trending in different directions, and the crew makes an interesting observation.

Just last year, the Texans were one of the top teams in the league. This year they're in shambles. The same can be said of the Atlanta Falcons, Green Bay Packers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. All good teams. All experiencing tough seasons, either due to injury or the inexplicable "bad year."

The Patriots meanwhile, have seen players suffer injuries and even get arrested, but somehow, they manage to keep on winning. While other franchises fall victim to the inevitable ebbs and flows of an NFL season, the Patriots have somehow managed to stay above it all and continue to win.

When Brady blew out his knee, Matt Cassel stepped in and led the Patriots to an 11-5 record.

When Drew Bledsoe got lit up on the sideline, an unknown named Tom Brady came in and led the Patriots won the Super Bowl and established himself as a franchise quarterback in the process.

When Aaron Hernandez was arrested and both Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski were injured, the Patriots kept winning.

No matter the obstacle, the Patriots have managed to do what no other NFL franchise has been able to do - just win, baby.

On Sunday, they're favored to do it again.

Do you think the Texans have it in them to pull off an upset?
