Colts receiving corps gets Patriots infusion

The Colts receiver room will have a bit of a Patriots feel to it this spring. Indianapolis announced on Thursday that it had signed Josh Boyce and Brian Tyms, both of whom called New England home last season.

Boyce was drafted him in the fourth round back in 2013 and never really found his footing in the Patriots offense. He played in nine games as a rookie and caught nine passes that year. He spent the following season on the team's practice squad before receiving a promotion for the regular-season finale. Last year he was placed on injured reserve before the start of the regular season.

Tyms was an undrafted free agent who spent time with the 49ers, Dolphins and Browns before signing with the Patriots in 2014. Tyms played in 11 games, starting two, and caught five passes for 82 yards and one touchdown in his first season with the team, providing quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots offense with an athletic down-the-field threat. Tyms suffered an Achilles injury during training camp last season and was placed on season-ending injured reserve.

Both players will compete for time with receivers that include TY Hilton, Phillip Dorsett, Donte Moncrief, Josh Stangby and Quan Bray.
