"I've learned not to be surprised by anything the Patriots do." - Steve Buckley

New England has now had more than 24 hours to let the Logan Mankins trade settle in.

Steve Buckley joined Arbella Early Edition to give his take on the deal.

"I was very surprised by the trade. But I've learned not to be surprised by anything the Patriots do." said Buckley. "I still go back to Burt Reynolds in 'The Longest Yard' where he tells the cons, rule number one is what? Protect your quarterback.

"That window for Tom Brady is narrowing. I would've thought they would put the very best team on the field for this season."

Gresh knows the 'Patriot Way' is frustrating, but it works.

"They do think long term," said Gresh. "As a fan, you hate it. If you're into the business model, it's worked. They've been consistent."
