NFL Network's Bert Breer discusses whether Riley Cooper's deal with the Eagles will impact Julian Edelman staying with the Pats.

The Philadelphia Eagles just gave wide receiver Riley Cooper a five-year, $25 million contract, with $10 million guaranteed.

Should that warm the heart, and line the pockets, of Patriots free agent wide receiver Julian Edelman?

Not necessarily, says Bert Breer of the NFL Network.

"I don't think it means anything for Julian Edelman," Breer told Gary Tanguay on Arbella Early Edition. "Riley Cooper is an outside receiver. Julian Edelman is an inside receiver."

The numbers last season: Cooper had 47 catches for 835 yards and 8 TDs. Edelman 105 catches for more than 1,000 yards and 6 TDs.

"Look at the average per catch [Cooper 17.8 last season; Edelman 10.1] and the TDs," Breer said. "Riley Cooper got less [money] than Wes Welker, less than Danny Amendola. I don't think it's an eyebrow-raiser. Five million I think is fair."
