Tom Brady's plans to play in the Pro Bowl? Scratched. According to The Boston Globe, Brady will have foot surgery performed at Mass General by team physician George Theodore, most likely on Thursday. The report says that Brady may have a screw inserted. If all goes well with the recovery, he "should be ready for training camp."Chances are, he'd like to be ready months before that. As early as this afternoon, Brady was planning to play in the Pro Bowl. Mike Lynch of Channel 5 reported via Twitter that Brady is out of that game and that former Patriot and current Chief Matt Cassel is in. The presence of Bill Belichick as the AFC coach and the fact teammates Matt Light, Wes Welker, Logan Mankins, Vince Wilfork, Jerod Mayo and Devin McCourty will begoing initially convincedBradyto clear space on his schedule for it, a source told me. But the surgery has put the screws to that plan. I noted earlier that until Brady was on the plane and winging West, the chance existed he wouldn't play. Looks like they won't have to wait for him at the gate. Six times Brady's been selected to the Pro Bowl but he's only played in two of the contests so far (2001 and 2004 seasons).
