Ron Borges joins "Sports Sunday" via telephone to answer some questions on the controversial "Rolling Stone" piece on Aaron Hernandez that he co-authored.

Patriots team president Jonathan Kraft, son of owner Robert Kraft, went on the Pats pregame show on the radio before the preseason finale last week to refute some of the claims made in the article, but when asked about it Sunday, Borges stood by the story.

"This was a story about Aaron Hernandez and how his life went from where he started to where he ended it up," Borges said. "It wasn't about the Patriots or Jonathan Kraft or [coach] Bill Belichick. The story is about Aaron Hernandez and the sad situation he finds himself in."

When host Mike Giardi brought up criticism of the article based on Borges' history of being critical of Belichick, Borges bristled at that suggestion.

"Other people have done that and I think shame on them," Borges said. "It's got nothing to do with me and everything to do with Aaron Hernandez....I don't even know anymore what to say. I think [that criticism] is media-driven, quite frankly. All you have to do is read the story. The story is about Aaron Hernandez."
