Bills safety Aaron Williams: ‘I hate New England'

It hasn't taken long for the Bills to follow the lead of their head coach Rex Ryan.

Two Buffalo players sounded off on Tuesday about how much they dislike their upcoming Week 2 opponent the New England Patriots.

"Don't nobody likes the Patriots," defensive lineman Marcell Dareus said on Tuesday, via ESPN. "Let's just be honest about it now. Put it out there."

Dareus will be back on the field Sunday after sitting out Week 1 due to a suspension that stemmed from a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy. The talented defensive lineman is 1-6 in his career against the Patriots.

Bills safety Aaron Williams also took some time out to express his displeasure for the Patriots.

"I hate New England . . . It's definitely personal for me," Williams told Sal Capaccio of WGR 550.

Williams joined the station earlier in the day to discuss just how the Bills defense may try to handle New England one week after beating Andrew Luck and the Colts.

"Just gotta remember where [Rob Gronkowski] and [Julian] Edelman are," Williams said. "Hopefully our defensive linemen get to Tom [Brady]. Our job in back end is to hold those guys as much as possible so the Cold Front can go up there and do their job, and that's sack Brady."

Williams explained that he planned on asking Bills coaches if he could be given the responsibility of defending Gronkowski, who scored three touchdowns in the NFL's season-opener against the Steelers.

"You gotta do your best," Williams said. "Gronk is definitely a play-maker and a huge difference in New England's offense, but if we get the right guys on him . . . Once you get a team in a one-dimensional game it changes the whole game plan.

"That's what we want to do. Stop the run, of course. Certainly. And then the guys in the back end handle the pass. That's one of the key things. If we can shut down Gronk and Edelman, it's kind of hard for them to beat us."
