Big hurts: Jets lose Revis and Bills lose Spiller

Two of the Patriots' AFC foes suffer potentially devastating injury losses.
In Cleveland, Bills running back C.J. Spiller suffered a shoulder injury after a 25-yard run that was called back because of a penalty and had to carted off the field. His loss would be a huge blow to the Buffalo offense.
And in Miami, Darrelle Revis left the game -- and, the team announced, will not return -- after his left knee appeared to buckle after he'd planted it while preparing for a tackle attempt on Daniel Thomas. As Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk noted: "Those non-contact injuries never look good and they often wind up not being good for the players who suffer them. The Jets defense needs Revis to operate at its highest level and, given the state of the offense, they cant win otherwise."

Andrew Hawkins celebrates joining Patriots with 'Ballers' spoof

Andrew Hawkins' situation isn't far off from a character in HBO's "Ballers." And he played into those connections with a video on Twitter.

The slot receiver, who signed with the Patriots on Wednesday, shares some similarities with the fictional football player Rickey Jerret, a veteran receiver who wades through interest from a number of teams, including New England, during free agency. Because of those similarities, Hawkins spoofed on a scene from "Ballers" where Jerret works out with Patriots receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola. Hawkins imposes his face over Jerret's.
