Belichick's film review highlights Brady mobility

The Sunday Night Football broadcast team referred to it multiple times while splicing in cuts of Tom Brady dancing in the pocket: The Patriots quarterback was downright elusive in his team's Week 6 win over the Colts, 34-27.

Brady's coach focused on that aspect of Brady's game in his Belichick Breakdown this week.

It first popped up on a 24-yard completion from Brady to Danny Amendola in the first quarter. With tight end Rob Gronkowski running over the middle, Colts defenders sagged his way -- "You can see how much coverage he attracts right here," Belichick said -- which left the Patriots slot man wide open.

"Tom's able to extend the play," Belichick said. "We have good protection, a nice pocket, tom steps up, hits Danny."

Brady extended the play later that drive when finding Julian Edelman for the first Patriots score of the game. Facing a three-man rush, Brady had space opened up for him in the middle of the pocket when left guard Shaq Mason slid left to wipe out the defender who was locked up with left tackle Sebastian Vollmer.

"A lot of times, these three-man rush plays, if the ball comes out on time, there isn't anybody open," Belichick said. "But if the play can extend a little bit longer, and the receivers can get into that second window . . . then we end up making a play. It was a nice job of adjusting and playing the play out."

Belichick also took time to break down Keshawn Martin's long 39-yard reception as well as both of LeGarrette Blount's touchdowns. The second Blount score came on a scramble play where, yet again, Brady used his legs to create something from nothing.

"In this case, Jerrell Freeman and D'Qwell Jackson, they're kind of bracketing the running back, LeGarrette," Belichick said. "When Tom scrambles, Freeman comes out of coverage, which I don't know really how much you want to come out of coverage against Brady, he's not that big a threat to run. But when he does that, LeGarrette instinctively makes the right play to find that space."
