FOXBORO -- Just because Bill Belichick announced on Wednesday that Rob Gronkowski had been cleared to play didn't necessarily mean that the big tight end would be out on the field with his teammates to start camp on Thursday.
Gronkowski was out there in passing drills Thursday morning for everyone to see how he's rumbling along on his surgically-repaired knee.
Asked how closely he'd be watching Gronkowski in his first practice with the team since last year, Belichick responded curtly but didn't refute the assumption that Gronk would be out there.
"I don't know," Belichick said. "We evaluate every player every day. Rob's been out there doing what we've been doing the last two days. We'll do what we always do."
Belichick also announced that every player who is under contract with the team has reported to camp.
