FOXBORO --Bill Belichick was not aware Friday that Terry Franconas tenure asRed Sox manager is reportedly nearing an end.

The Patriots coach expressed his disappointment during a morning press conference at GilletteStadium.

Terry and I are good friends, said Belichick. I didntrealize that had happened, but, he was a great manager. Im sure that a lot ofpeople in baseball would love to have his record and championships.

So Ill certainly miss his presence in this area. Im surewell be friends and still talk and see each other and so forth. But itsdisappointing, on a personal level, because I like Terry. He certainly had agreat record as the manager of the Red Sox. They went 86 years without achampionship, and he then he won two of them. So that speaks for itself rightthere.
